Very nice! I love the effect of the coffee and the contrast of the extreme light and dark. I wish there were closeups of the face because it looks detailed and it would be nice to see that.

I like the unfinished feel, and the way you used the materials. it's not the traditional way of painting portraits... I like it a lot!

This looks just awesome. I think it works verry well. You have a well defined focal point. wonderfull placement and composition. I could go on for days, but you probably wouldnt get half of it :D It reminds me of Degass. Witch is probably the best comment I could give another painter :)

Wow thanks for the comment! Its really nice when people write more than 'Nice' or 'Cute', and actually add something helpful in the critique. Yeah you're right about Degas, I never even though about him, if I had I would definitely have used charcoal!

this is beautiful. I love the color pallet...it has that classic feel to it...and the coffee stains adds a nice dimension.The brush strokes are just wonderful, I really like that worked look. I think it works well with the piece. Reminds me of Rembrandt's later work, some of his old self portraits.
